I think as humans in today's society that has been breed to judge and compare, it is nearly impossible to get this instinct out of our systems. It is hard to not observe what you don't agree with, and not speak out about it. I will be praying for you guys to find a church, and I will say, the most important thing you should be seeking is a church that preaches from the scripture and is not a "tickle your ears" and "feel good about yourself" kind of church. God wants us to be accountable to each other, and He did give us rules to live by as Christians. A church that preaches this, will also preach about love and forgiveness, but also about how to change from being in a sinful life without Christ. That's not to say that as Christians, we don't sin. Actually, just the opposite. When we become Christians, we accept and acknowledge that we are sinners and without the sacrifice of Jesus, we would be lost for eternity. I believe whole-heartedly that being a Christian is a lifetime of growth of self, and should ultimately be from a goal to live a life pleasing to God. I believe that if you are in a personal relationship with God in prayer and faith, He will guide you to where you are supposed to be. Prayer for discernment and wise decision making is important in all aspects of life. I personally don't believe that homosexuality is the way God created humans to be. I don't understand it because I'm not wired that way, it doesn't make sense to me. Do I believe it's right in God's eyes? No. I believe marriage was intended for one man and one woman. Do I believe that God loves homosexuals? Yes. I believe that He wants to be a part of their lives and wants them to seek Him. Where that takes them is between them and God. My uncle was gay. I didn't get to spend much time with him before he died of cancer, and complications from AIDS. He died when I was in 3rd grade. My father didn't have much of a relationship with him. He has dealt with alot of regret over their relationship over the last 30 years and wishes he had done things differently, but he still doesn't believe that lifestyle is right. It's a difficult, multi-faceted issue that I don't believe will ever be something that everyone agrees on. Ultimately, it comes down to that person and God and where they stand with Him.
I also want to say, that I personally believe that it's healthy and good for people to have different opinions and to be able to discuss them in a respectful way without being rude and condescending. I hope that anyone that reads your blog will approach you with their thoughts in that way and not be insulted by the fact that you have an opinion.
Again, I'll be praying for you guys to find a church that allows God to use you as a servant and to feed you spiritually.rmbmajorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06821094594495983284noreply@blogger.com
